How SIFAA Works
Why UAE water needs filtering — and exactly how SIFAA's 3-stage system removes chlorine, heavy metals, and hard water minerals from every shower.
The Problem
What's hiding in your UAE shower water?
UAE municipal water is heavily chlorinated and extremely mineral-hard — some of the highest levels in the world. While this makes water safe to drink, the chlorine, heavy metals, and hard water minerals remain when it reaches your shower — and that's where the damage happens.
During a hot shower, your pores open up and skin directly absorbs chlorine. Hot water also vaporises chlorine into steam you inhale. Simultaneously, hard water minerals (calcium and magnesium) cling to hair follicles and skin, stripping natural oils and causing the dryness and hair fall that's so common across the UAE.

The Solution
3 stages of purification
SIFAA passes every drop through three dedicated filtration media, each engineered for a specific category of UAE water contaminants.
KDF-55 (Kinetic Degradation Fluxion) is a high-purity copper-zinc alloy that uses a redox electrochemical reaction to break down free chlorine into harmless chloride ions. It simultaneously removes heavy metals — lead, mercury, arsenic, copper, cadmium — and creates an environment that inhibits bacterial growth throughout the cartridge's 3-month life.
UAE water has some of the highest hardness levels globally due to its natural mineral composition. Calcium Sulfate Balls neutralise and buffer excess calcium and magnesium ions — the minerals responsible for the limescale on your taps, the dry feeling after showering, and brittle hair in the region. After this stage, water is perceptibly softer and leaves no mineral residue.
The ACF Rod uses activated carbon fibre — significantly higher surface area than granular activated carbon — to adsorb chloramines, trihalomethanes (THMs), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and any residual chlorine odour. The fibre structure ensures effective adsorption even at typical shower flow rates. This stage is responsible for the clean, fresh smell of SIFAA-filtered water.
Installation
Ready in 5 minutes
No tools, no plumber. SIFAA fits inline between your shower arm and shower head — any brand, any type.
Remove your existing shower head
Unscrew counter-clockwise from the shower arm. Hand-tight on most UAE models — no tools needed.
Thread SIFAA onto the shower arm
Screw the SIFAA housing onto the exposed arm thread, clockwise, hand-tight. Universal G1/2 thread fits all standard UAE shower arms.
Reattach your shower head
Screw your shower head onto the SIFAA outlet — same as it was before. Works with fixed, handheld, and rain-head types.
Flush for 30 seconds
Run cold water for 30 seconds before first use to clear any fine particles from manufacturing. Water is safe to use immediately after.

Replace every 3 months
After 3 months of regular use the KDF-55, Calcium Sulfate Balls, and ACF Rod begin to saturate. Signs it's time: water starts smelling faintly of chlorine again, or skin and hair feel less soft. Replacing on schedule keeps all three stages at full capacity. Replacement cartridges are available in our shop.
